SKO started in 2004 as a trade only manufacturer on Carlisle St East in Sheffield. Only a year later we opened our 1st retail showroom, since then we haven't looked back. Because we manufacture high quality bespoke kitchen cabinets in volume we can sell at flat-pack / D.I.Y store prices, this is the secret of our success. Put this together with excellent customer service, amazing choice and expert designers you can see why more people choose SKO Ltd year on year.

Since 2004 we have never stopped growing, we now have a new 40,000 sq ft head office, factory and distribution centre located in Hillsborough and employ over 40 people locally. We now have 2 showrooms, our original branch at Carlisle St East and Hillsborough Trade Point with 50 kitchen and bedroom displays within the group.

Our Story

We have a long and proud history. Please use the arrows below to read our story

2004

Stuart, Daniel & Wendy Hattersley founded SKO as a trade only kitchen manufacturer at Carlisle Street East Sheffield.

2005

Opened a small retail showroom at our factory premises.

2006

Extended the retail showroom to 12 displays.

2007

Employed our first retail sales team so Stuart could focus on running the now larger company.

2008

Reached turnover of 2 million and employed 20 people locally.

2009

Financial crisis hit the UK economy so our growth plans were put on hold. Turnover, profitability and staff numbers still increased steadily for the next few years.

2010

Completely refurbished our Carlisle Street showroom and increased to 20 displays.

2013

SKO opened our 2nd retail showroom at Hillsborough Trade Point.

2014

SKO Moved into a 28,000 square foot head office, manufacturing and distribution facility, and opened a new trade counter In Hillsborough.

2017

Launched our INTEGRO range of true handle less kitchens.

2018

Opened our 4th showroom at Elland Road in Leeds.

SKO now employs 55 full time staff.

2019

We moved production into our new factory on Julian road, investing over 1.5 million in the building and new machinery, we also increased our workforce to 65 staff.

2021

Approved by Made in Sheffield as a result of demonstrating our commitment to manufacturing high-quality bespoke kitchens and bedrooms for retail and trade customers nationwide.
